Kick ass hair!

Sedgwick County Zoo!

Honestly I know it's been 10 years or more since I have been to a zoo. The last time I went was in 1996 and it was the Oklahoma City Zoo. I went recently with Michael and we had a hoot. It took us about 3hrs to make it through most of the areas at a liesurely pace. We skipped the North America section because quite frankly we've both seen coyotes and groundhogs!
"The Jungle" section was a really cool really humid indoor area complete with tropical birds, bugs, and bats. These bats were really cool to look at. They were fruitbats and had babies clinging to them, and they were about 2 feet long and were hangin from the roof.
I most enjoyed the guarilla section and the chimpanzees as well. The big guys were very active and put on quite a show for the crowd. We took several pictures of them, I just loved the one where it looks like the little guy is picking at my hair.
The safari section was very interesting as well. The poor lion was laying up against the glass totally eyeing the visitors with strollers.:) I decided to lay down beside him so we could take a few pics!
I really enjoyed my day at the zoo and recommend that you make a day of it when it's not so freakin hot, and it was the most entertaining $20 I've spent in a while.

A Reality check...

I'm noticing how hooked I have become on reality tv shows, but there are so many on tv right now, it's hard not to get addicted. Let me state for the record that I am NOT an American Idol fan, although I do indulge in the earlier episodes of the try-outs. That sh*t is just hilarious!

There are reality shows of reality shows. I really enjoy shows like Inked, 8th and Ocean, and Pinks. I have found a new series on MTV called Fast Inc. that just started this week and I think I'm hooked. I'm not the kinda person to rush home in the middle of the evening just to catch a show, thank goodness for that nifty device that records all my shows for me. I'm not going to mention the name of THAT device because I'd hate to give any credit to the establishment from which I rent it. My experience has been pretty good with it, but lets just say that I know what a piece it can be when you downright depend on it to record your fave movie or series.

My job seems to be going great these days, we've been a happening joint on the weekends. I volunteered to work a wedding this week and it turned out to be a wild night with lots of cash to be made. It was a pleasant surprise!

I went to the Wichita Zoo last week and I will post some pics next time!
