And we're back from that brief pause in the action...

Sometimes I'm just too corny for even myself!! Well those of you that don't know, I'm making the move to Nebraska at the end of the month. The love of my life and I have signed a lease for a kick-ass tri-plex just 15 minutes outside of Lincoln.

He has a great job 30 minutes away and I'm trying to decide what it is I wanna do. I would really like to re-establish my credentials as an EMT, I'm going to have to do some research on Nebraska licensing and laws before I do anything. I'm nationally certified but state certified for Kansas, so it may take some more classwork to get hired here in NE. I think I'm up to it!

I just got new today that my good friend who has been in Iraq for about 1 year, is state-side and headed for Missouri. I'm very greatful to the two friends who helped me with the footwork to find that out, thanks so much!! I'm so excited to see and here from him! If you read this Robbie, I have so much to tell you about the craziness of my life these days, you'll just love it!! Hehe!

Well, I know it's been a long time since I have posted here, so hopefully I still have readers!! Keep in touch everyone, I miss the controversy!!

it's been a while..

wow, where have the months gone?! I can't believe winter is soon here, AND the new year. So much has changed so quickly this year, it's going to be hard to recap it all, but I'll do my best. Sorry for the extended absence.

Awesome Schedule for BIG XII, Thanks Jess!!!

BIG XII Football is coming!!!

I'm starting to get excited about it already and our first game isn't until Sept. 2nd. But, with a new coach and all the drama going on with the BIG XII right now, it's gonna prove to be a kick-ass season. I plan on attending only a few games this year, with my work schedule even a few will be difficult. Luckily we are going to be showing the games on the big screen on Saturdays, so I'll be able watch AND work.

I know it will be this time of year that I miss Tyson the most, because it was he who shared his knowledge and love of Kansas State Football with me. I might have learned a thing or two about tailgating from him as well! *winks*

Kick ass hair!

Sedgwick County Zoo!

Honestly I know it's been 10 years or more since I have been to a zoo. The last time I went was in 1996 and it was the Oklahoma City Zoo. I went recently with Michael and we had a hoot. It took us about 3hrs to make it through most of the areas at a liesurely pace. We skipped the North America section because quite frankly we've both seen coyotes and groundhogs!
"The Jungle" section was a really cool really humid indoor area complete with tropical birds, bugs, and bats. These bats were really cool to look at. They were fruitbats and had babies clinging to them, and they were about 2 feet long and were hangin from the roof.
I most enjoyed the guarilla section and the chimpanzees as well. The big guys were very active and put on quite a show for the crowd. We took several pictures of them, I just loved the one where it looks like the little guy is picking at my hair.
The safari section was very interesting as well. The poor lion was laying up against the glass totally eyeing the visitors with strollers.:) I decided to lay down beside him so we could take a few pics!
I really enjoyed my day at the zoo and recommend that you make a day of it when it's not so freakin hot, and it was the most entertaining $20 I've spent in a while.

A Reality check...

I'm noticing how hooked I have become on reality tv shows, but there are so many on tv right now, it's hard not to get addicted. Let me state for the record that I am NOT an American Idol fan, although I do indulge in the earlier episodes of the try-outs. That sh*t is just hilarious!

There are reality shows of reality shows. I really enjoy shows like Inked, 8th and Ocean, and Pinks. I have found a new series on MTV called Fast Inc. that just started this week and I think I'm hooked. I'm not the kinda person to rush home in the middle of the evening just to catch a show, thank goodness for that nifty device that records all my shows for me. I'm not going to mention the name of THAT device because I'd hate to give any credit to the establishment from which I rent it. My experience has been pretty good with it, but lets just say that I know what a piece it can be when you downright depend on it to record your fave movie or series.

My job seems to be going great these days, we've been a happening joint on the weekends. I volunteered to work a wedding this week and it turned out to be a wild night with lots of cash to be made. It was a pleasant surprise!

I went to the Wichita Zoo last week and I will post some pics next time!

Stop the presses...

New plan just put into place. Found a house that was mostly in my budget, so I'll be moving into a 2 bedroom just a few blocks from my old place. I spoke with my previous potential roomates and all is good. Canceled my sale because I'll be in a place that's large enough to hold all my stuff. The new place has a large back yard so now I have to build a fence for my dog. He'll love all the space back there.

We've got some kick @$$ bands coming to the bar this upcoming weekend. Hed PE and Wicked Wisdom will be traveling through. I'm excited for our place, we're starting to see some turnaround now. I ran so much last night that my feet hurt clear up to my knees when I got home! It was a great night though!

cell phones ARE the devil!

So I am moving at the end of the month, my landlord sold the house. I'm not shocked, just a little disappointed. I am moving in with 2 friends to save money. Unfortunately, I'm moving into 1 bedroom. I am having a moving sale this weekend to try to condense all my belongings. Should be interesting. I am also disconnecting my home phone, so I purchased a cell phone. I've already had numerous problems with it, like I can receive text msgs but cannot send them, the balance inquiry function does not work properly, and according to one source who called me, you have to dial my # twice in order to get through. I was that person who formerly stated that I thought cell phones were the devil, now I can confidently state that they ARE the devil! LMAO

It's going to be a very busy weekend at the bar this weekend, BIG MONEY! The band playing Saturday night is giving their "farewell" performance. I'm sad to see them go, but we are talking with some national acts about this late summer and early fall.

Well, I'm off to play with my cell phone some more. Anyone local who is looking for a good bargain, stop by on Friday and look through what I have, everything's negotiable. Have a great week!
